After interviewing quite a few contractors, my wife and I chose Sun Structures because it was clear that the Donne family were trustworthy and experienced, with a solid reputation for quality work at a reasonable price. Throughout the process, John, Thomas and Clay were very professional, personable and helpful. They were flexible enough to offer many options that we could choose from and allowed me to be involved in the daily work as much or as little as I was able. We had such a good experience with our sizable renovation with new master bedroom suite and dream bathroom, big deck, screened porch, laundry room, and family room that we hired them again the next year for another remodel- this time a new office with custom cabinetry, and dining room. Our additions were such a hit that two of our neighbors used Sun Structures for their remodeling as well. Really nice folks; we continue to recommend them highly.

This past fall we used Sun Structures to build our new screen porch and patio. It was such a pleasure to work with John and his son, Thomas. They did an excellent job and were committed to bringing the project completion in a timely manner and on budget. They were so patient with our many questions and took the time to explain small variations that they thought necessary to the project. Thanks to Sun Structures, our screen porch and patio are stunning and could be featured in “Home Beautiful”.

Sun Structures did an amazing and fabulous total renovation of my new-to-me condo.  Thomas Donne and his crew were great to work with.  He was able to connect me with an architect to redesign the closed in space and make it open and bright.  We worked on a budget together and then we both worked on the deadline.  He was able to meet an incentive goal and finish on time.  We emphasized accessibility with 36″ doorways and short halls that add to the openness.  We took 1000 sq ft back to studs and removed all the walls for the foyer, dining room kitchen and living room and then recreated the space with a TV/computer space, galley kitchen, dinning and great room with a new efficient fire box in the fireplace and built in bookcases.  In the other half of the condo, the bedroom foot prints were okay but the closets and 2 bathrooms were completely redone.   I recommend Thomas with my highest enthusiasm.

Our home project entailed a blending of old and new, involving the restoration and reconstruction of an authentic 19th century log cabin with a traditional stick built addition.  Sun Structures embraced the unique challenges required and created a seamless combination of the two differing elements with the highest degree of craftsmanship.  We could not be more please with the finished product that we are proud to call our home.

After interviewing several companies on the phone and in-person we chose Sun Structures to add a family room, mudroom, and front porch to a small house we had just purchased. Thomas Donne sold us on his attention to detail and practical recognition of our budgetary concerns. The balance Sun Structures ultimately achieves is even more wonderful than we understood at the outset. The company houses decades (if not centuries) of collective local construction experience, the Foreman approached every detail of the project (start to finish) like it was his own home, every person who came onto our property was courteous and professional, they used modern online project tracking tools and consistently provided nearly instantaneous answers to questions in-person or through calls and texts, and they clearly have amassed a vast network of excellent and reliable subcontractors. But, all those niceties aside, they completed the project ahead of schedule and within the budget. We could not have asked for more. We love our new space, it looks and feels incredible, and we look forward to working with Sun Structures again in the future!
